From Costa Ballena you can see the great lighthouse of Chipiona, the highest lighthouse in Spain. Another special place is the neo-gothic Sanctuary of Regla right on the beach of Regla, which you can walk to on foot from the beach. A curious aspect that Rota and Chipiona share only in Spain and some towns in Western France are the corrales, which are best seen in Chipiona from the beach of Cruz del Mar and which are very old stone walls where the fish are trapped in watertight enclosures when the tide goes out.
